  • Less radiation exposure due to the absence of wave pulses. These are not as biologically reactive as compared to GSM networks.

    Location area identity (LAI) is an ID given to a particular network area. As the operator has divided its network into Location Areas, each having a unique LAI number. When the Phone changes its position, new LAI is stored to the SIM and send it back to the service provider.
  • Authentication key
    It is used to identify and authenticate subscribers
  • Contacts and SMS
    SIM can store the SMS and contacts. Contacts are stored in the form of Name and number. How many contacts and messages can be stored on SIM depends on the capacity of that SIM. Earlier we can only store 5 SMS and 20 Contacts and now the SIM can store over 250 Contacts.

Security Features of SIM

For the security purposes, SIM has Two type of passwords which protects your SIM card from unauthorized use. Passwords are PIN and PUC.

  • Personal identification number (PIN)
    PIN is used to protect the unauthorized access to your SIM or Device. The will ask you for the PIN when you switch it ON. If you enter the wrong PIN for more than three times, the SIM card will be blocked. In some cases, both SIM and Phone got locked.
  • Personal unblocking code (PUC)
    It is also known as personal unlocking key (PUK). PUC or PUK is used to reset personal identification number (PIN) in 3GPP mobile phones. The network provider provides PUC. However, be careful while entering the PUC number, If you enter the wrong PUC eight times in a row, then your SIM card will be blocked and you have to take a new SIM.

Google Voice Search upgrades to support 8 more Indian languages

India is a country with vast diversity (but united as Indians) and ranks 2nd as the world’s populated country. The 23+ local languages/dialects used in the various region across India is self exemplary of its diverse culture and practices. Which means either majority of the Indian population doesn’t have access to Internet or they face problem with the default English language used in the internet.

It seems, the internet giant Google has got one step solution for the latter problem. Google has now updated its Voice Search function to include 8 more Indic languages. Potentially, eradicating the language barrier existed over the web for years, specially for the common Indians.

Which all Indian Languages?

The new Indian languages that gets added to the Google Voice Search portfolio includes: Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. Samsung Galaxy Note 8 spotted in AnTuTu listings

Making a visit on various renowned benchmarking website by a device before its announcement is a long followed tradition. Similarly, the much anticipated Galaxy Note 8 has already popped its head on GFXBench just few days ago. Now, the successor of last years ill-fated Galaxy Note 7 was seen in AnTuTu – an another benchmarking website.

 

Certain specs and features of the upcoming phablet – Note 8, could be deduced from the benchmark result. As expected the benchmark result obtained from the AnTuTu differed in some aspects to that of from the GFXBench. This anamoly in the result, clearly indicate us that the benchmarking can be spoofed. And to take any benchmarking results with a pinch of salt.

However, AnTuTu reveals the following things about the Galaxy Note 8:

According to the listings Galaxy Note 8 with model number of SM-N950. It features Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Mobile Platform. The same SoC seen in Samsung’s last flagship Galaxy S8 in U.S market. Surprisingly, AnTuTu details the resolution of the Note 8 to be only 1080 x 2220 FHD display. Contrary, to the much expected QHD+ display that was suggested by most of the leaks and unofficial sources so far.

Coming to the camera section it features a single 12MP primary camera and an 8MP secondary. Again,no mention of dual-camera setup as on the GFXBench.

Galaxy Note 8 will be unveiled at a special event to be conducted in New York city on August 23. Samsung has already made preparation for the event by inviting press officials and all. Anyway, the Galaxy Note 8 launch will mark a major milestone in the Samsung history. Especially for its Note series as far as the last year’s Note 7 debacle is considered.

With the Real-Time Live View counter being the latest feature to debut in the YouTube.

The Real-Time View counter – as the name suggests, it gives the exact number of viewers simultaneously watching the same video that you are currently viewing. Seems interesting, isn’t it?

In the app the text is placed in between like/dislike thumbs and the video title. Which used to be the space for ‘views’ the video grabbed. So, with the advent of Real-time view counter, it is the total number of views going to lose its place.

The server-side loading of the counter being experimental in nature. Unfortunately, it is not available for everyone and only seen in certain YouTube Android app users. Also, nothing is clear about the iOS counterpart of the YouTube. Basically, it means that Google may be final testing the feature before its mass roll-out.
