HTC Desire 555 Launched with Android Nougat for $120 [Specs]

HTC has added a new Android Phone is its Desire series- the HTC Desire 555. The newly launched smartphone costs $119.99 that is roughly INR 7,658. Desire 555 packs with some good specs and feature in the low price range. The smartphone will be available on Cricket wireless carrier in the US.

On the specs side, HTC Desire 555 flaunts a 5 inch HD display which is having 720 x 1280 with Gorilla Glass protection on the top. The smartphone is powered by a 1.1 GHz Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 SoC and Adreno 304 GPU. On the camera front, the HTC Desire 555 has the 8-megapixel camera with LED flash on its back, while on the front side, it has a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.

The newly launched device in HTC Desire series carries 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 2TB with a microSD card. The Desire 555 runs on Android 7.0 Nougat under HTC Sense UI out of the box and the device is backed up by a 2,200 mAh battery. Apart from this the smartphone also boasts HTC’s exclusive features, like BoomSound for better sound quality, HTC Themes for personalization options and HTC BlinkFeed, too. Cricket Wireless only has the HTC Desire 555 in Dark Gray. The device is priced at $119.99 as said earlier.

Xiaomi Mi 5X Leaked Poster Reveals Specs and Pricing of the phone

Xiaomi is reportedly working on a mid-range smartphone which is rumored be Mi 5X. The details about the Xiaomi MI 5X are limited but a new leaked poster reveals some key specifications and price of the upcoming smartphone. The poster suggests that phone powers with Snapdragon 625 SoC and 4 GB RAM.

According to the leaked poster, the Xiaomi MI 5X will feature a 5.5-inch display which will have a Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The poster further also reveals that the MI 5X will be having a price tag of 1999 Chinese Yuan that is roughly INR 19,000 or $296.

Inside, as per the poster, the Xiaomi MI 5X is rumored to have fingerprint scanner at the front side. The phone is said to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor along with Adreno 508 and 4GB of RAM. On the photography side well, the rumored MI 5X will feature a dual-rear camera setup, though the camera sensors and their resolution is unknown for now

Star Wars latest augmented reality (AR) headset brings Holochess

Disney has announced its D 23 fan event, which is going to be held this week in Anaheim, California. With this, Disney also made an announcement that they would be developing an augmented reality headset in collaboration with Lenovo. Which will be used to play Star Wars related games. Disney has also teased a couple of games which include Holochess and another game called Jedi Challenges.

However, a number of different applications are also being teased by Disney. Which includes the Holochess game that put the animated, holographic monsters on top of a table or other surface. The first game which will be coming to the new AR headset will be Star Wars Jedi Challenges. The said game will utilize a motion controller made to look like the light saber which is used by Anakin Skywalker, Luke Skywalker, and now Rey in the main saga films.

This decision of AR headset by Disney and Lenovo is with an aim to focus on augmented reality suite. Which runs on a phone highlights the challenge facing makers of more-expensive immersive virtual reality devices. Disney, on the other hand did not reveal a release date for the headset or Jedi Challenges. However, the game’s website notes that it is “coming soon to Best Buy and Lenovo.com.”

Amazon new messaging app “Anytime” reportedly in the works

Amazon is reportedly building a new messaging app, named as “Anytime.” The said app is rumored to be a one-stop messaging service. Which is going to provide you an option of communicating through text messages or via video chats. However, there is also buzz that the retail giant has already started to survey its customers about the potential features of the app. Although it’s not clear what form the final product will take.

Google has updated its popular Google Maps with a new features. Google has recently rolls out a new home screen on Maps for Android in which users can see a travel time graph for directions. While looking driving directions, now you can swipe up on the lower bar ahead of starting your trip to check if the travel time will change over the course of a few hours.

To access this latest Google Maps’ feature, you’ll need to go put in the destination that you want to go to.  After that, you have to tap “Route Info” at the bottom of the screen. Then Google Maps is previewing your route and you’ll see the new traffic graph. This feature is now rolling out on Android , But right now it’s not showing up for iOS quite yet.
