Samsung has partially confirmed that its coming with Galaxy GEAR Smartwatch. As according to reports its revealed that this new smartwatch is coming along with Galaxy Note 3 which is rumored to be launched on September 4 at IFA 2013 in Berlin, Germany.

Next, coming onto its specs or features, Galaxy GEAR (SM-V700) is rumored to be packed with a Exynos Dual-Core 1.5 GHz Processor with ARM Mali-400 MP4 GRU (Graphical Processing Unit), 1 GB RAM, a 3-inch high-quality OLED display, a 4-megapixel camera and WiFi to connect with Samsung devices. Also, there will be Bluetooth and NFC at your service along with 2 Megapixel camera.

From rumors we concluded that Samsung’s Galaxy Gear smartwatch will be sold in five different colour options. These colours are White, Orange, Gray, Black and White Gold.

Its also said that Galaxy Gear will come with modified version of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

SONY Xperia Z Ultra’s Triluminos display and X-Reality

Sony mobile recently launched the biggest handset in Xperia line up, Xperia Z Ultra. It features a huge 6.4 inch TFT display of resolution 1920×1080 with pixel density of 342 pixels per inch. Interesting thing is that Sony is marketing it with two new terms “TRILUMINOS™ Display for mobile powered by X-Reality™”.

Are the new Triluminos and X-Reality Engine technologies on the Xperia Z Ultra as good as Sony sells them to be? Let’s take a look at both the technologies.

TRILUMINOS Display

TRILUMINOS for mobile gives users access to a wide palette of rich natural colors thanks to Sony’s BRAVIA expertise. It presents rich, deep and authentic colours with subtle tones. It actually increases the range of colors that an LCD display can display by about 50 percent by the use of quantum dots.

Quantum dots are best described as light-emitting nanoparticles. Basically, they are very small (2-10 nanometers) particles of a material that emits light. Depending on the size of the particle, which can be controlled precisely, quantum dots emit light in a specific wavelength, which the human eye perceives as a specific color.

LCD displays uses white backlight, which is eliminated in the Quantum Dots technology. It starts with a conventional blue LED, which produces pure blue light. But that blue light also stimulates two kinds of quantum dots that emit pure green and pure red. With this approach, the only wavelength that passes through the red filter is the pure red emitted by the red quantum dots.

X-Reality Engine

X-Reality for mobile analyzes images, reproduces lacking pixels, optimizing quality for sharpest vids, also enhances composition & contrast. It up scales and sharpens the low resolution content adding depth and sharpness to it.

According to Sony, the software breaks down the signal sent to the display into several components – texture, outline, contrast, and color. Each one is separately analyzed and processed, to ensure the clearest, sharpest, most attractive final image.

Both Triluminos and X-Reality engine are the technologies of Sony TV division which are now added to the mobile division. BRAVIA engine was the first to be adapted for mobile phone. All of these technologies are great way enhancing the user experience on SONY cellphones.

Samsung launched the Galaxy Tab 2 after the success of its Galaxy Tab series few months ago. Samsung developed this tab to challenge new series of iPad. There’s improvement in every aspect from the older Tab but one thing which didn’t changed is its build quality, which is still sports the same plastic backside, but now comes in titanium silver as opposed to white.

Its packed with Dual-core 1GHz processor which is fixed on TI OMAP 4430 chipset along with 1GB of RAM; PowerVR SGX540 GPU. It runs on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean and some users in France have received the update of Android 4.2.2 on their Galaxy Tab 2 devices.

Well we going to talk about Galaxy Tab 2’s specs in detail. So let’s start with

Hardware

First, let’s talk about Hardware of Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 – Samsung has fitted a 1GHz TI OMAP 4430 dual-core processor with 1 GB of RAM (770 mb usable). The device is available in 8GB, 16 GB, 32 GB storage options and you can even expand your storage via external microSD card upto 32 GB.

Design And Display

Well, its the most important aspect of any device and most of the users change their minds if device don’t hold better quality or design.

Display

First, we take display of Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 which outputs, crispy and sharp images. Its packed with 7.0″ 16M-color PLS TFT capacitive touchscreen of WSVGA resolution (1024 x 600 pixels) with 170 ppi pixel density.

Design

On the front side of the tab there’s no Hardware button present, only there’s front camera, some sensors and an earpiece. At the top we found the 3.5mm audio jack and the secondary microphone used for stereo audio in camcorder mode. On the bottom there are two speaker outputs with additional microphone and in between speakers here’s proprietary 30-pin connector for charging and connectivity purposes.

There’s microSD slot on the left side of the tab and power button with Volume one’s present on the right side.

Its sides are moulded to improve its holding in the hand. The Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 still feels solid (with Plastic), with a sturdy frame clawing back a small amount of premium feel.

Software

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 was launched with Android 4.0.4 on board but now its running on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean and even in some countries Samsung has rolled out Android 4.2.2. After upgrading you can enjoy Jelly Bean luxuries like Google Now, Project Buffer and much more.

As usual it is skinned with the proprietary TouchWiz UI, which adds more customizations to the interface than its Jelly Bean counterpart.

Camera And Battery

It is powered by dual camera’s on front side and back side. On front 3.15 megapixel main camera is capable of doing 720p videos and a VGA front-facing camera allows you to video chat. Shutter speed is less than a second. Below are some images shot with Galaxy Tab 2 Camera:

The 720p videos are top-notch with stereo audio recording, full of detail, low in noise and, generally, nice and smooth.

Its 4000 mAh battery can hold 7.1 hours with continuous video play and can hold full day without charge if normally used. The tablet has a 4,000mAh battery, which is only slightly less than the 4,325mAh battery of the Nexus 7. The Samsung Tab 2 P3100 comes with a standby time of around 800 hours.

OpenGL ES is the software which provides interface for graphics hardware. Interface consists of a set of rules and functions that allow a programmer to specify what operations are involved in producing high-quality graphical images and specfically color images of three-dimensional objects.It is cross-platform API for full-function 2D and 3D graphics on embedded systems – including consoles, phones, appliances and vehicles.It also has the various versions of OpenGL ES specification now exist in the market lets have a look at them.

OpenGL ES 1.0

OpenGL ES 1.0 is very light weight version which contains quad and polygon rendering primitives, texgen, line and polygon stipple, ABR image pixel class operation are not supported, nor are bitmaps or 3D textures, polygon mode and antialiased polygon rendering are not supported, although rendering using multisample is still possible , several of the more technical drawing modes are eliminated, including frontbuffer and accumulation buffer. Bitmap operations and specifically copying pixels are prohibited.

OpenGL ES 1.1

OpenGL ES 1.1 adds the new features to the OpenGL ES 1.0 which is the mandatory support for multitexture images, automatic mipmap generation, vertex buffer objects, state queries, user clip planes and greater control over point rendering.

OpenGL ES 2.0

OpenGL ES 2.0 is publically launched in March 2007. It eliminates most of the fixed-function rendering pipeline in favor of a programmable one which further followed in Open ES 3.0 . Another thing which important in this version is that the Control flow in shaders is generally limited to forward branching and to loops where the maximum number of iterations can easily be determined at compile time. In this graphic programmers also replaced by the shaders which results as OpenGL ES 2.0 is not backward compatible with OpenGL ES 1.1. OpenGL ES 2.0 becomes popular as Android 2.2 , iPad, iPad mini, Blackberry 10 and Nokia’s Symbian also uses this graphical interface for betterment of their products graphics.

OpenGL ES 3.0

The OpenGl ES 3.0 publically released in August 2012. It is is backwards compatible with OpenGL ES 2.0, It also enabling applications to incrementally add new visual features to applications. In this verion of OpenGL ES features are added like multiple enhancements to the rendering pipeline to enable acceleration of advanced visual effects, In this version the facility is provided for eliminating the need for a different set of textures for each platform and it also improves the 3D textures and depth in the textures. This new version is used in Android 4.3 which announced on 24 July 2013, Sony Xperia Z, HTC One, and Samsung Galaxy S4.

What is Google Chromecast And How It Works?

As we know Google has launched new product similar to Apple TV which is know as Google Chromecast at an event in San Francisco. Its smaller in size, its cheap in price and it can be used on cross platforms with its comparison to Apple TV. Google Chromecast allows users to stream content from any device running – Android, Windows, Mac, iOS to your Television aka TV. In short words it brings your mobile video to Big screen without any complex installation.

What Chromecast Can Run?

Google Chromecast is an HDMI dongle that communicates with video and audio apps. Particularly on Mac or PC using its Chrome Browser Extension you can run content visible on your chrome window – including YouTube, Netflix, Pandora, Google Play and Google Music.

Similarly on Android 2.3+ versions or iOS6+ you need to download Chromecast apps which will transfers the content to your big screen TV. On smartphones you can run only YouTube, Netflix, Google Play, Google Music and Pandora and other distributors will be added soon.

Google quoted that “Our goal is to partner to create an ecosystem of apps as well as devices, While the Chromecast device is the first instantiation of Google Cast, we expect the technology to be embedded in a range of devices from our partners.”

How Google Chromecast Works?

Its installation is pretty simple only you need to follow these instructions:

Plug the device into an open HDMI port on your TV,
